What is New York without Lady Liberty? So, when I decided to make Big Apple the theme for this post, the big Statue naturally took four out of eight spots. US of A may represent many things to many people across the globe. But for most, America is the land of the free, and Liberty Statue is the de-facto icon of that spirit. Perhaps no other sculpture in modern history captured more fascination. Millions of photographers clicked her countless times, yet a fresh picture of her never fails to evoke that feeling of freedom and hope.

The traditional image of New York is quite colorful. Yellow cabs, those massive glittery screens at Times Square, etc, etc. Color everywhere. Haven’t we all seen enough of it already? So for a change, how about some b&w stills of New York life?

Enough hooptedoodle. Off to the pictures now.

Coastal California

California isn’t called The Golden State for nothing. Actual gold is long gone alright, but there’s still plenty more – ranging from scenaries to opportunities. With snow mountains, scorching deserts, volcanic parks, ocean fronts, pristine lakes, dense forests, historic sites, and being one of the only five places on earth with a Mediterranean type climate, California is a photographer’s paradise all year around. California is also home to one of the most scenic coastal corridars in the world. The scenic Highway-1, Big Sur region in particular, is popular for it’s breathtaking views and is the number one coastal drive in the United States. So that’s where I shall start for my first post in this photo blog. Here come a few snapshots I took at various beaches in the beautiful Monterey peninsula.
